Small Company CSR – 2007 Winner & Honourees

At the inaugural PM’s CSR Awards, Masterskill College of Nursing and Health was singled out for its exceptional CSR Programme. Masterskill’s CSR Programme falls within three categories – Education, Community & Charity and Nation Building.

Environment – 2007 Winner & Honourees

The three companies that were singled out for honours for their CSR work in the 2007 Environment category pursue very different projects, and yet a passion and commitment towards conservation and environmental education is evident in each of them.

BP in Malaysia was named the winner for its longstanding role in advancing turtle conservation in Terengganu since 1999.  BP’s efforts to reverse the decline of the Green Turtle and the other three turtle species that nest in Terengganu’s beaches abundantly demonstrate a consistent long term approach to assuring the survival of these majestic animals. Community & Social Welfare – 2007 Winners &Honourees

At the inaugural 2007 PM’s CSR Awards, the quality of Intel’s CSR Programme outshone all those shortlisted and the company took home the trophy in the Community & Social Welfare category.

intel-volunteer-480xIntel has had a number of programmes that aim to empower the underprivileged – its Back to School Program provides children with school basics; its Annual Adopt-a-Child Campaign provides funds for two homes to cater to the needs of residents; while its Volunteer Matching Grant Program sees employees giving tuition and taking part in various school projects, with the US-based Intel Foundation donating US$80 for every 20 hours contributed by an employee. In the PC Pal Program, employees keep in email contact with students to enhance both their English & IT skills. In addition, Intel runs four community centres in Penang. [Read more...]
