Aduan Rakyat is a programme broadcasted on TV 3 that provides a platform for the community to voice its complaints. Each episode is divided into three segments and highlights different issues; examples include the misuse of handicapped parking, fly infestation in Setiawan, Perak and the medical needs of pensioners in Sungai Besi. Malakoff wins 2010 Award for environmental CSR
Malakoff Corporation Berhad was the winner of the 2010 PM’s CSR Award for the Environment for its contributions towards environmental rehabilitation and boosting energy efficiency.
Environmental conservation coupled with energy efficiency is a key aspect of Malakoff’s Community Partnerships. Malaysia’s largest independent power producer is implementing environment-friendly initiatives across its operations, undertaking grassroots CSR programmes that impact local communities and target stakeholders. It has also kick-started enterprise-wide thought leadership initiatives on “green” energy, and the company has installed grid-integrated solar panels in six schools as part of its Green Schools programme, which will be extended to 20 schools. L’Oreal Malaysia recognised for empowering women
L’Oreal is driven by the conviction that the world needs science and science needs women. It’s commitment to improving the representation of women in research was recognised with the 2010 PM’s CSR Award for the Empowerment of Women.
Generally women are under-represented in the research industry with only a small percentage occupying senior positions in scientific fields. L’Oreal Malaysia For Women in Science Fellowships (FWIS) is an extension of the international L’Oreal-UNESCO Awards, and provides financial grants of RM20,000 each to three young female researchers to pursue scientific studies in Malaysia.
