Deadline extended to 19 Sept for 2011 CSR Award submissions

The PM’s CSR Awards is the Malaysian Government’s way of recognising the leadership and vision of companies that are today demonstrating how businesses can operate with integrity and engage society. By giving outstanding programmes the recognition they deserve and showcasing them to a wider audience, the Ministry seeks to encourage companies of all different sizes to become part of a growing movement for change.

Submissions are now invited for companies to vie for the 2011 CSR Awards. Completed submissions must be received by the Awards Secretariat by 5 pm, September 19 2011.

I am delighted to inform you that the journey to the 2011 Prime Minister’s CSR Awards has begun. In Malaysia, CSR has never been more urgent, as businesses pick up steam after the recent global economic downturn. In presenting the 2011 budget, the Prime Minister urged the corporate sector to partner with the government in not only reinvigorating the economy but also enhancing the quality of life of Malaysians.

The Government recognises the role it must play, but this journey is not one that we can walk alone. It is only with the involvement and implementation of sustainable practices from the private sector that we will be able to achieve our goal of becoming a high performance nation by 2020; a nation that is not only economically sound, but socially as well.
