Small Company CSR – 2007 Winner & Honourees

At the inaugural PM’s CSR Awards, Masterskill College of Nursing and Health was singled out for its exceptional CSR Programme. Masterskill’s CSR Programme falls within three categories – Education, Community & Charity and Nation Building.

masterskills-fespic-480x The organisation provides research grants, offers scholarships to needy children and orang asli, sponsors medical and healthcare equipment for homes, supports community and social activities, contributes manpower, intellectual expertise and advisory services, conducts community based training at charitable homes and encourages student activities that involve giving back to society. Environment – 2007 Winner & Honourees

The three companies that were singled out for honours for their CSR work in the 2007 Environment category pursue very different projects, and yet a passion and commitment towards conservation and environmental education is evident in each of them.

BP in Malaysia was named the winner for its longstanding role in advancing turtle conservation in Terengganu since 1999.  BP’s efforts to reverse the decline of the Green Turtle and the other three turtle species that nest in Terengganu’s beaches abundantly demonstrate a consistent long term approach to assuring the survival of these majestic animals. Education – 2007 Winners & honourees

The inaugural WINNER of the PM’s CSR Awards Education Category was Petronas’ Education Division. PETRONAS’ education programme is consistent with the National vision to create ‘towering Malaysians’ who can navigate the intricacies of a rapidily globalising world.

In the past decade, PETRONAS has used its substantial financial resources to put in place a broad ranging programme called PETRONAS in Education.  This programme cuts across all sectors of the community through the company’s various institutions such as PETROsains, Petroleum Resource Centre, Education Sponsorship Unit (ESU), Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, PMTSB, PERMATA and Malaysian Maritime Academy (ALAM). PETRONAS has managed to reach a wide cross section of the community through experiential learning, demonstration of best practices, teaching and inspiring students to excel.
