Klinik Waqaf An-Nur

Waqaf is an Islamic system that stems from the idea of institutionalising voluntary giving in order to guarantee sustainability. It has strengthened and empowered Muslim communities since the early days of Islamic history. Inspired by the spirit of waqaf, KPJ Healthcare Berhad (KPJ), a group of hospitals and specialist medical centres in Malaysia and Indonesia, felt compelled to establish a network of charity clinics to make healthcare accessible to all Malaysians, irrespective of race or religion.

KWAN Pasir Gudang

The first Klinik Waqaf An-Nur (KWAN) was set up in 1998 in Kotaraya, where patients earning less than RM800 a month are charged only RM5 for treatment and medication. This was followed by the opening of eight other KWAN clinics and dialysis centres nationwide.
